The OLN Inc team just returned from our second leadership conference this quarter
The president of OLN Inc was a keynote speaker at this Denver conference. He discussed an important topic for all entrepreneurs and career-minded people: choosing between the pain of discipline and the pain of regret. He shared with us this great quote: “Successful people do the things unsuccessful people don’t want to do; Successful people don’t want to do them either, but they know they have to.”
Also speaking at the conference was successful businessman, Brook Chestnut, who discussed the importance of perseverance. Chestnut started his career in B2B sales, and shared that it took him a long time to make money and achieve success. He also told an interesting story about hiking Denali, the highest mountain peak in North America. His crew started with 9 people, but only 5 people persevered to make it to the top. He related this story to being tenacious in business, and finding the right people with the right character to build your team. He spoke about success being a journey, not a destination or a vacation. He provided some motivational words to remind us about the difference our generation can make if we set our minds to it.
OLN Inc‘s HR Manager, Jessica Honey, shared an excellent quote that she felt summed up the entire conference: “The man on top of the mountain didn’t fall there.”
